Welcome to Andrea Shull Speech Therapy! My name is Andrea Shull, MA, CCC-SLP, a licensed speech and language pathologist based in Issaquah, WA.

I am nationally credentialed through the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and have my Washington State Department of Health Speech Pathology License. I have attended many continuing education courses including the following:

·      PROMPT works to stimulate the tactual sensory systems to enhance the development/rehabilitation of speech, language, cognition and interaction.

·      Hanen programs help parents assume a primary role in promoting the social, language and literacy skills of young children. Hanen courses I have taken: It Takes Two to Talk, More Than Words, andTARGET words.

·      Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding program addresses problematic feeding behaviors in a variety of settings and populations. Focuses on increasing a child’s comfort level by exploring and learning about the different properties of food.

·      Talk Tools adds enhancement of the tactile component to feeding and speech therapy, enabling clients to “feel” the movements necessary for the development of speech clarity and safer eating/feeding.

·      Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking skills help kids develop their social competencies to better connect with others and enhance relationships.

I received my masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Western Washington University in 2003. I have spent most of my career working in private practice multidisciplinary clinics, which has given me the opportunity to work closely and collaborating with Occupational and Physical therapists. From February 2010 to September 2012, I worked in Spangdahlem, Germany on a US military base providing early intervention (birth to three program) speech and language therapy to military children whose parents were stationed overseas.  I was able to provide speech therapy sessions in the child’s natural environment as well as provide parent support and trainings.  I have facilitated several  Hanen “TARGET words” parent trainings to families with children who were “late talkers.” I started my own speech therapy private practice in Issaquah, WA in October 2017.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two small children. I love to run, hike, cook/bake and garden. I have a love to travel especially abroad to learn different cultures, customs and especially try new foods!
